Southern Maple Sweet Potato Casserole

A delightful and easy twist on the classic Southern sweet potato casserole, enhanced with rich maple flavors.

  • 4 large sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil or bake the sweet potatoes until tender. Drain and cool.
  3. Peel the sweet potatoes and mash them in a large bowl.
  4. Add maple syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon. Mix until smooth.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and smooth the top.
  6. Sprinkle chopped pecans and mini marshmallows on top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until heated through and marshmallows are golden.
