Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

Enjoy a deliciously low carb take on a classic Philly cheesesteak casserole, featuring turkey bacon and melted cheese.

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet until crispy, then remove and crumble.
  3. In the same skillet, cook the ground turkey until browned.
  4. Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until softened.
  5. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and crumbled bacon.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix the cream cheese, beef broth, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  7. Combine the turkey mixture with the cream cheese mixture.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with shredded provolone cheese.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can also include jalapeños or banana peppers.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for several days.
