Beefy French Onion Baked Rice Casserole

A deliciously hearty casserole combining the flavors of beef and French onion, topped with crispy turkey bacon.

  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, brown the ground beef and onions until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add the rice, beef broth, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Cover with foil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil, top with cheddar cheese and crispy turkey bacon.
  8. Bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • For added flavor, use a mixture of beef and turkey.
  • This dish can be easily doubled for a larger crowd.
